Overview Project 2: Double Exposure Self Portrait

This project is about showing where you came from or where you live with one image by combining two photos. One a portrait of you and the other a cityscape/landscape of the area you either grew up in or live in now.

Requirements:

  • Find a partner in class to take your portrait.  You will be making the area around you white in Photoshop, so it is best to take it with a white background. You can be looking at the camera, a profile or other creative angles but it is NOT a silhouette and we must be able to see your eyes (but they can be closed for effect)

  • Use either one of the photos we took on the fieldtrip downtown of the city of San Diego, or take a new one if you want to use Chula Vista or you can use one from another city that you may have come from.  YOU MUST have taken the photo yourself though.  It can be a cityscape or a landscape showing the area.  The one you use must show/tell something about you though.

  • You will learn in class how to use Photoshop to combine the images.

  • You will have a written element with this that describes part of your journey as to the relevance of the images and your story of how you came to be where you live.
